Allerzip Pillow Protector Standard, 2 Pack Reviews
26 of 28 people found the following review helpful CAUTION - it melts!, June 18, 2009 By ChooChoo (NY) - See all my reviews I washed these cases before using as instructed on the packaging. It said to dry on medium heat, which I did for only about 5 minutes and when I took them out of the dryer, they were all crumpled. The plastic on the inside had melted!
Aside from the melting problem, the terry cloth on the outside also seems kind of cheap. I found much better bed bug proof pillow cases made by Allergy Luxe.
4 of 4 people found the following review helpful Pillows are worth protecting and this product does just that, October 7, 2009 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Protect-A-Bed AllerZip Terry Allergy Pillow Protector I have been investing in better and better pillows for quite a few years now and I have learned that they are as important as your mattress. When a friend discovered that she had a bedbug problem she was embarassed, but hey, it happens. I have been using Protect-A-Bed covers on my pillows for over 5 years and have grown to trust them. It was important for her to have a set of pillow protectors as bugs and dust mites like to hide in pillows. The zippers on these covers are especially made to prevent the escape of begbugs (I HATE those litte guys!).
If you are spending fifty to a hundred dollars on your pillows (and a lot of people do) you might want to think about protecting them. It's not only the bugs that it protects you from, it also keeps your pillow clean and safe from dirt and grime. Well worth the cost.
3 of 3 people found the following review helpful Need a smooth version with zipper closure, May 27, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase I was very disappointed with these pillow protectors.
I got a mattress encasement from this same manufacturer which I like fine. The Mattress protector has a smooth surface and a way to tie the zipper closed so that it doesn't slip open (allowing bugs to go in or out.) The pillow protectors lack these features.
The zipper creeps open at times and there's no way to secure it in place. Additionally the Terrycloth surface is a great place for bugs to get into and hide. They may or may not get into the pillow itself (IF the zipper stays closed) but they'll have a great time nesting on the surface. It's a dust trap and small bug heaven.
I'd like a product that works like the mattress protector. Something that is intended to be left in place permanently, and that can be surface wiped if necessary. This pillow cover appears to be made with the intent that the user remove and launder it regularly. - I have pillow cases for that. I need a functional reliable... Read more
